1. Introduction
Welcome to Passman. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use,
protect, and share your information when you use our application. By using Passman, you agree to the
terms outlined in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We prioritize user privacy and only collect the minimum data required to provide our service. We do not
collect sensitive personal data beyond what is necessary for authentication and encrypted password
storage.
2.1 Authentication Data
- Email Address: Required for account creation and login.
- User ID: Used for account management in Firebase Authentication.
- We do not collect or store passwords used for authentication (Firebase handles authentication
securely).
2.2 Encrypted Password Data
- Passman allows users to store passwords in an encrypted format.
- All passwords are encrypted before being uploaded to Firebase, making them inaccessible to us.
- Decryption happens only on the user's device, ensuring that no third party (including Passman) can
view stored passwords.
- We use end-to-end encryption using AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) to ensure the highest level of security for your data.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the collected data only for:
- Securely authenticating users.
- Storing and retrieving encrypted passwords.
- Allowing users to manage their credentials.
We do not sell, rent, or share user data with advertisers or unauthorized third parties.
4. Legal Basis for Processing Data (GDPR Compliance)
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), our legal basis for collecting and using your personal
data depends on the context:
- User Consent: You provide consent by signing up and using Passman.
- Legitimate Interest: We store encrypted passwords to provide the core service.
- Legal Obligation: If required, we may store authentication data to comply with legal requirements.
5. Data Security
- Your passwords are encrypted before being uploaded to Firebase.
- Even if a data breach occurs, no one (including us) can access your stored passwords due to
encryption.
- Firebase services follow industry-standard security measures, including TLS encryption and secure
storage policies.
6. User Rights & Data Control
You have the following rights over your data:
- Access: Request to see what data we store about you.
- Correction: Update or correct your account details.
- Deletion: Delete your account, which removes all stored data.
